Tokyo Garage is a volunteer-run initiative based in a private garage in Higashi-Nippori, Arakawa Ward—reclaiming the nostalgic backstreet culture that once defined Tokyo's neighborhoods, and creating a place where something is generated from nothing.

Co-founded in 2017, the inaugural workshop brought together over 100 participants to collectively build a treehouse—now a symbol of the project and a beloved gathering place for local children. Drawing from perspectives in education, psychology, and art, Tokyo Garage cultivates environments that stimulate the growth instincts of children and young people, from infancy through adolescence.

Since 2019, the project has regularly hosted "Yoru no Gakkou" (Night School)—programs designed around the theme of yoru (夜=night, 寄る=to come by, 因る=to relate)—as a third place for teenagers.
