STORY
My Own Why Laboratory was an interactive exhibition realized through collaboration with childcare workers and early childhood educators who believe in the value and interdisciplinary power of artmaking.
Contemporary art—with its focus on ideas and concepts—shares deep commonalities with the philosophy of early childhood education. Through a wide range of Instruction Art, the exhibition invited participants to tap into the inherent power of questioning: Why? Why not?

The exhibition was structured in three sections—"Us," "You and I," and "Myself"—each featuring Instruction Art and immersive environments designed to deepen self-reflection and explore one's relationship with oneself and others. These instructions functioned as "recipes" to stimulate thought and emotion, engaging the imagination of participants of all ages—designed especially to be experienced together by parents and children.
自分のなんで実験室は、アートの価値とその横断的な力を信じる保育士や幼児教育者との協働のもと実現した参加型展示である。
アイデアや発想に重点を置く現代アートの概念と幼児教育には、多くの共通点がある。幅広いインストラクション・アートを通じて、自分の内に秘めた「どうして？なぜだろう？」という問いの力を引き出すことを目指した。

展示は「私たち」「私とあなた」「私」の3つのセクションで構成され、それぞれに自己内省と他者との関わりを深めるインストラクション・アートと体験環境を配した。これらの作品は思考と感情を刺激する「レシピ」として機能し、子どもから大人まで、年齢や経験を問わず想像力に働きかける。特に親子で体験できる設計としたことも、本展示の特徴である。
