To sift: To make a close examination of all the parts of something to find something or to separate what is useful from what is not

Sifting the Inner Belt was a year-long experimental research and participatory project that closely examined Boston's South End neighborhood, creating emotional, conceptual, and physical bridges between the Boston Center for the Arts and the Berkeley Street Community Garden.

With the collaboration of artists, activists, and community residents, the project unfolded through dialogue and community engagement—culminating at the BCA with performance events, site-specific installations, research displays, and multifaceted social experiments.

都市を篩(ふるい)にかけたとき(Sifting the Inner Belt)は、ジェントリフィケーションの影響を受けたボストン市サウスエンド地区で1年間実施した参加型アート・リサーチプロジェクトである。ボストン芸術センターとバークレー・コミュニティ・ガーデンの間に、感情的・概念的・物理的な橋をかけることを軸に、地域の課題と様相を探求した。

アーティスト、アクティビスト、地域住民との協働を通じて、対話とコミュニティ参加による多面的なプロセスを積み重ね、ボストン芸術センターでのパフォーマンス、サイトスペシフィックなインスタレーション、リサーチの発表をもってプロジェクトは終了した。
