The act of naming—whether giving or receiving—encapsulates the essence of a moment, etching into permanence the intuition and values it embodies. It transcends mere words, condensing the unseen: unexpected expectations, the collective consciousness of others. This ritual extends beyond individuals to all material existence.

Set against the backdrop of Midori's family home, the Saratani Sake Store, and her present life at Matsutani Seizo Honpo as a married woman, the project unfolded through conversations with Midori and her husband Mitsunao—breathing life into forgotten moments and resurfacing emotions tied to events where "names changed." Sewing became the conduit: tracing the contours of celebratory moments and everyday fragments captured in photographs, with thread.

Through deliberate stitches on white cotton fabric, Midori reaffirmed her present sentiments and wove her journey forward. Throughout the festival, she engaged visitors within her household, turning everyday routines into conversational performances—chance encounters reigniting memories, blurring past and present.

A collection of 58 potions, mirroring Midori's years, emerged—each a mysterious "secret potion" handed over in encounters, with her intuition deciding when and to whom to deliver. Each participant's interpretation lies at the core of this work.
