And I want you to convey
all these experiences to someone
a hundred years from now, in your own way.

STORY
The Earth Symphony Orchestra is a site-specific participatory work created for Sense Island—a nocturnal art festival held exclusively on Sarushima, an uninhabited island in Yokosuka City—inspired by the festival's theme of rediscovering human senses in darkness. Through extensive site visits, I explored the island's unique sensations, culminating in this immersive work.
Upon entering the exhibition area, participants encounter the Instruction and receive a stethoscope and a mat to perform the piece.
地球交響楽団は、横須賀市にある無人島・猿島で、夜間にのみ開催される「Sense Island -感覚の島- 暗闇の美術館」のために制作されたサイト・スペシフィックな参加型作品である。「暗闇の中で人間の感覚を取り戻す」というテーマのもと、現地視察を重ねてこの島ならではの感覚を探求し、本作を生み出した。
来場者は展示エリアの入口付近でインストラクションと出会い、聴診器とマットを受け取り、作品を演じ・参加する。
