STORY
We often underestimate the extent to which our health is shaped by societal and environmental factors, many of which are beyond our individual control. Disparities in living environments directly lead to health inequalities.
Creative Determinants of Health is a DIY instructional card project designed to help individuals reconsider their living environments from new perspectives and reflect on physical and mental health. Combining the Social Determinants of Health with Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences theory, the project utilizes an instruction art approach. Easily downloadable and hand-assembled, the cards function as both a participatory tool and a physical artwork.
Some instructions are explicit, while others are intentionally ambiguous. Each card can be interpreted freely—used for personal reflection, as prompts for neighborhood exploration in community development, or simply played with as an interactive game.
私たちの健康は、個人の自己管理だけで保たれるものではなく、生活環境や社会的な要因と深く関わっている。時にこうした環境の違いが、根深い健康格差を生み出している。
『健康の創造的決定要因（Creative Determinants of Health）』は、生活環境を異なる視点から見直し、心身の健康について考える機会を生むために制作したDIY型のインストラクションカードである。健康の社会的決定要因とハワード・ガードナーの多重知能理論を組み合わせ、インストラクションアートのアプローチを取り入れた。ダウンロードして自らの手で組み立てることで、参加型ツールとしてもカード形式の作品としても機能する。
指示には明確なものもあれば、意図的に曖昧なものもある。各カードの意図を自由に解釈し、個人の内省として、まちづくりの一環としての街歩きとして、あるいはゲーム感覚で、多様な文脈に応用できるよう設計されている。
