STORY
Tsumugu Project was a community engagement initiative launched in 2018 to mark the 15th anniversary of Roppongi Hills. Rooted in the concept of tsumugu (weaving connections between people, place, and art), I worked alongside artists across diverse disciplines to build relationships with multigenerational participants who share deep ties to the neighborhood.
Each program took its name from the artist's medium, including wood, sound, food, storytelling, dialogue, and dance. Through the lens and critical thinking of art, we held space for open, cross-generational exchange, reflecting on the neighborhood's past and imagining its future together. The project continued through the COVID-19 pandemic and concluded in 2024.
